Out of love

I’m not looking for a job right now, but I am thinking ahead to my next career. My earnest question is this: What do you do when you fall out of love with your employer of 20+ years? To be clear, this emotional divestment happened in 2019, well before the Covid pandemic. The reasons are complicated. Actually, no, they’re simple, but I don’t know that I can share them here. What I can say, and have said, is that I believe in public service, and I believe in learners, and I believe in a progressive culture for data largely centered on learners. It’s been really important to be able to affirm and continually recommit to my fundamental worklife beliefs. I’ve just been at a loss for how best to build on that belief.
